OBJECTIVES

Client Satisfaction is the Prime Objective of the Angle Zed Droughtmaster business and delivery is maximised through strict adherence to a practical management program, proven and updated over many years.

FEMALE HERD

Angle Zed females carry strong poll genes, despite opportunistic use of horned sires over time.

Selection criteria is profit driven i.e. there is no room for freeloaders or 'nice cows', all females must earn their keep 'off their own bat' in a tractable manner and produce progeny desired by the market.

In females, close attention is paid to:

Femininity, particularly mothering and reproductive efficiency
Sufficiency of volume and foraging ability ultimately being 'easy doers'
Temperament
Structural Correctness

Females are selected and mated at 12 months of age with joining on a single sire basis for 12 - 15 weeks dependent on seasonal conditions. Despite an increase in breeder numbers, stringent culling and management programs ensure an upward trend in the herds' performance. The "D" system is regularly employed to introduce top performing commercial females to the studbook.

Artificial breeding is also employed, dependent on seasonal conditions.

Each year a select group of "keeper quality" heifers are offered for sale in the paddock.
